We are fans of Sonic the Hedgehog, who take a less positive view of the Archie Comics-produced adaptation of the series, and sepnd some time every now and then casting a more critical, analytical eye over it and its many quirks and foibles. We are quite happy to welcome criticism and discussion on any of our threads, as long as they're not too old. We only ask that you treat our views with respect, and we shall do the same for you.
Rules & Regulations
(These are subject to editing, based on whether they work in practice and seem fair or not)
We are critics, not blind haters and trolls.
Alternate fancomics, fanfictions, and generally your own take on the Archie universe are welcome!
Anything not relating to the Sonic franchise is not welcome, however, and Sonic-related art should preferrably be Archie-based/related.
Michael Gallagher, Ken Penders, Karl Bollers, and Ian Flynn are not the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They are just mediocre-at-best writers. Similarly, the other continuities are not perfect examples of storytelling. If you have trouble viewing these authors as people, this may be a bad place for you.
We are focused on the storytelling, characterization, etc, of the comic.
We do not discuss the lawsuit without acknowledging that it was Archie's fault and Penders made it worse.
No personal attacks, threats, or anything of the sort against the writers.
No trolling/spam on Bumbleking, or the artists' DA pages. That just makes us seem like fumbling idiots, and activity of this kind will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken.
No character hate art. Criticizing the characters is a-okay, as long as it's clear that it is the fault of the writers, not the character. We're not the Anti-Sally-Sue club, we're better than that.
Try to justify your arguments with valid reasons and evidence, or at least basic series logic.
No holding up other continuities, especially SEGA, as the pure and perfect gospel of Sonic. Let's not forget that while Archie created 172 and the Mecha Sally arc, SEGA created Sonic 06 and endorsed Sonic X.
Have a point to your arguments, and try not to post something that you know is only going to piss Archie fans off without raising any issues. It will likely be just as aggravating to everyone within the group who actually have solid arguments.
Members have three strikes. Crossing the line three times will result in expulsion.
Communication between the Admins may result in promotions or demotions, based on conduct.
Don't block someone just because they're arguing with you. A group like ours is bound to insight arguments and flamewars, and Archie fans are welcome to argue with us if they choose.
Most importantly:
Respect the opinions of others. Just because you hate Archie, doesn't necessarily mean that others will do.
